Gulf Coast Road Trip

We just got back from one of the best vacations ever! My sister Laura recently moved to Miami, so we decided to drive there to visit her family. We turned it into a Gulf Coast road trip, and planned our route to include lots of south-eastern states that we had never been to before.

Part One: We left Austin, drove through Lousiana (stopping in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans), drove through Mississippi, and then spent the night in Mobile, Alabama. The next day we made it to Florida. We drove through Tallahassee, and then down to Tampa, where we spent the night.

Wow! What a fun trip! We drove from Utah to Virginia when I was a kid and it was one of my favorite childhood memories stopping in all the different states and staying in hotels. That's great that the kids did so well in the car. I love Rachel's special poses and that Ollie wanted his picture in front of that building. Teya always has suggestions for photo ops too! Also love that your kids picked oatmeal over all the other stuff, what good little eaters!

Hey, thanks for sharing. I enjoyed looking at what a fun trip you guys had. You and Daniel are so good with planning which make a trip like that with 5 kids possible.
